Hello all, Normally I do not comment on HUrun videos related to the padlocks we are producing. I am humbled to see that LockPickingLawyer is taking on our padlocks in his famous HUrun channel. He is really skilled and does a great job keeping us lock manufactures on our toes. However, this time I find it a bit unfair as LPL is actually testing a lock cylinder made by DormaKaba which happens to be installed, probably by a locksmith, in one of our padlocks. A type of padlock without cylinder we sell to locksmiths for them to install certified Scandinavian Oval cylinder in. Even though I find DormaKaba to be a fine company I cannot take credit for nor be responsible for the quality of all their cylinders. I do, however, guarantee that the Swedish manufactured padlock in this video is made to the highest standard and quality. Stay safe and secure! Best regards Tomas Eriksson CEO and Owner ANCHOR LÅS AB SWEDEN
Att du tittar på LockPickingLawyer och faktiskt ger ett så grymt svar gör mig stolt som svensk trots att jag inte har något med detta att göra... :) Kudos
Recap: we make Ferarris without engines and we license with Hyundai to add the engine. The engine blows up and catches fire but what does everyone see? A burning Ferrari. They conclude that Ferraris are unsafe and nobody buys them anymore. I would rethink my partnerships.
@Sharpthings Inspace and that depends on your theat model and set up as to whether it's an issue or not. All security can be circumvented. It's a matter of how you deploy it to ensure that risk is as low as possible and the obstacles / risk of being caught are sufficient to deter or make it impractical. Using that thinking, no one would ever use a padlock with a shackle less than 20mm thick.
People shouldn't really give Anchor Lås a bad time for this, as they only make the lock body and not the core. Note that the body is exactly what the LockPickingLawyer notes is of really good quality. Blaming Anchor Lås is like blaming the manufacturer of a door on a drafty house because the builder of the house forgot to install insulation in the walls.
I don't know if you have already done this or thought about it, why don't you partner with a company and design the strongest unpickable padlock? I mean if you did that you would sell them like crazy.
In this day and age, why we're still using a metal object called a key to unlock a security device is just plain silly. Biometrics, NFC and smart chips offer far better resilience than a metal object stuck in a hole.
I was doing something else during the first few seconds waiting for the intro to be over and I nearly missed him raking it. I just started laughing. Really. Caught me off-guard.
LPL could probably get several Guinness World records: Most Locks Picked Most Locks Picked by the tool bill and he made Most Locks raked Fastest lock picking ever. And many more
LPL, I've been watching you for quite a while and I love your content; however, you're so good at being monotone that I'm starting to think that you win cases by putting the jury to sleep. Best regards!

A 1.25 video to show LPL picking it in under three seconds..... :-O If he only ever showed the 'start to finish' of the pick- I could watch his entire channel while finishing a beer...

I wonder, and forgive me for not knowing if you've attempted before, but, if you had (or have) the welding experience or, manufacturing experience I think, even a little bit, could you produce a lock that even you couldn't pick? Like that one question, "could God create a boulder so heavy he couldn't lift"?
These ASSA 700 knockoffs are nowhere nearly as tough a pick as the real item. I have two ASSA 700s in my own collection, and even though I know them by heart at this point I can't open either of them in less than 10 minutes. That combination of tapered and "wedding cake" drivers with super crisp edges on the counter-milling in the core makes them bloody unforgiving of even the smallest tension error.
The great thing about this guy's videos is that you don't need to watch them. Just look at the title and the length of the video and you know how long it took for the lock to get pwned.
@tsuchan1 Thanks, I have sent him an e-mail explaining this. I have also commented in the 1st level in the comments but given the massive amount of comments I understand that my comment may get lost among the other comments. Yes, the products are individual links in the chain of security. I take responsibility for the "link" we develop and produce but I can hardly to the responsibility for the entire chain. And just as LPL mentions in the video, it is a well built padlock. You realize that once you hold it in your hand. Have a great day!
@Thomas Eriksson I think you should post a version of this comment to LPL's e-mail address, on his 'About' page... because I think he'd like to get feedback from the manufacturer, but in a 2nd-level comment among hundreds, I guess he may not read it here. Based on many past LPL videos I've watched, I think there must be an excellent chance that if you post him one of your locks with one of your own cylinders, that he will make a video of it. One salutary lesson I take from your message, is that as businesses we can suffer from what other companies do with our product. Anyway, I really did love the design of your lock, and LPL praised its build quality.

Hey dude, I was curious about something. Did any of these companies ever tried to sue you? Companies are dumb enough to do things like that. Ever happened?
Hi - I love your channel, i could watch your videos for hours. I have currently upgraded home security and i'm looking for a good cilinder for my front door. A friend of mine advised me to install a Kaba star cross cilinder drom Dorma Kaba with drill proof inlay. What's your professional opinion on this cilinder and what would be your choice? Best wishes from Switzerland
